San Marcos, CA – May 7th, 2013 - Baja Designs’ Scientists constantly research the latest technologies for ways to make their LED lights better. Their new Moisture Block cord is an innovative new technology that solves one of the biggest problems that plagues LED lights – water in the light. Moisture Block completely stops water from wicking its way up the cord and into the lights.

“Our lights have to be impervious to pretty much everything – dust, rain, snow, water crossings and collisions to name a few,” says founder and Chief Engineer Alan Roach. “Our new Moisture Block cord system is a fail-safe way to make sure that our lights are 100% waterproof no matter how harsh the conditions are and even if the customer cuts off our waterproof connector,” says Roach.

The Moisture Block functions exactly to its name, completely blocking moisture or water from working it’s way through the cord and into your LED light. Even if you cut the connector off, your light is still waterproof and you won‘t void your warranty. Moisture Block, another great innovation in lighting from the Scientists of Lighting at Baja Designs.

In other news, the Baja Designs’ Scientists of Lighting have yet another “bright” idea made better. Squadron and SII LED lights are now available in an attractive and salt water resistant white coating. These MIL-SPEC lights provide amazing light output with incredible functionality and customization.

SAN MARCOS, CA – Baja Designs (BD) has always engineered and manufactured LED lighting systems with replaceable lenses and optics. Amazingly enough, almost all other LED bars are silicone sealed and not serviceable. If a BD lens is scratched or scored, you don’t replace the entire light as you do with most imported products, nor do you need to send it back to the manufacturer as you would with other popular LED lights.

BD’s uService™ technology allows you to simply unscrew BD’s water and dust proof lens and seal to replace the damaged optics or lens. On top of that, the same uService™ technology means you can also change the optics of your light. When you consider that BD also includes a limited lifetime warranty on all their lights, uService™ offers the ultimate in purchase protection.

Team Enlightened Sweeps the Mint 400

Baja Designs’ Team Enlightened takes the overall and first in class in all five of the unlimited classes at the Mint 400. When lighting performance really counts, top racers choose Baja Designs lighting to get them to the podium.

At the Mint 400, the unlimited vehicles start in the afternoon, and the 400 mile race runs until well after dark. This year, every one of the unlimited classes was won by racers using Baja Designs lights.

Class 1500 – Class 1 Unlimited Buggy – Chuck Hovey – 1st in Class

The Mint 400 has long been known as one of the toughest desert races in the US. The brutal 100-mile Mint 400 loop course was devastating this year. Of the 255 starters, only 132 finished within the time limit-making the attrition at 48%, the toughest in recent Mint 400 history.

Join BD at the 2013 King of the Hammers

The Scientists of Lighting – at Baja Designs are thrilled to be part of the 2013 King of the Hammers spectacle. Ultra 4 racing has become well known as one of the toughest race series in the United States and King of the Hammers is the granddaddy of them all. The scientists of Baja Designs will have a booth setup so everyone can see their lights, including the new OnX LED that provides the distance of an HID with the smoothness of an LED. BD scientist will also be on hand to help aim your lights and recommend the ultimate lighting setup for your vehicle. Bluetorch Fabworks owner and racer, Jason Carner says, “We are all really excited for this year’s KOH, and even though we hope we won’t have to use our BD lights for this race, we always know we have the best in the business.”

“The 7th running of the Griffin King of the Hammers Presented by Nitto Tire will be the largest to date with an expanded Vendor show, and additional entertainment. Look for some exciting changes to the race course as well as improved spectator areas. Again the event will take place during the second week of February and the main event will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013.”

Baja Designs LED Light Bar Survives 96 mph Crash

Kevin Sacalas and co-driver Bryan Grigsby of Big Ugly Racing thankfully both walked away from this amazing 96 MPH crash with only minor injuries. The same cannot be said for the car . . . We can also share that the two Baja Designs Stealth LED Bars still function great and escaped the crash with only a few cosmetic injuries. We wish the Big Ugly Racing team a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing them on the course soon.

Imagine a high powered LED light with a lens area not much bigger than an average post-it note! The Baja Designs Squadron 3×3 LED light is proving to be the most versatile, brightest and innovative light in its class. It’s unique compact size is even being introduced to the construction world as a work light. The Squadron’s list of capable uses keeps growing. The Squadron was first made as an off-road LED light that would harness the same power as a smaller HID light, meaning less power draw and an extremely bright light.
