In other news, the Baja Designs’ Scientists of Lighting have yet another “bright” idea made better. Squadron and SII LED lights are now available in an attractive and salt water resistant white coating. These MIL-SPEC lights provide amazing light output with incredible functionality and customization. “The Squadron and SII LED lights have been used in every imaginable condition and surpassed our expectations every time” says BD Engineer Tex Mitchell. “I am an avid fishing enthusiast and as everyone knows, boat deck lighting can be power hungry and extremely fatiguing to the human eye,” says Mitchell. “The Squadron and SII are available in four patterns and utilize uService™ technology which gives the pattern choices and customization that has been lacking in the marine market. SAN MARCOS, CA – Baja Designs (BD) has always engineered and manufactured LED lighting systems with replaceable lenses and optics. Amazingly enough, almost all other LED bars are silicone sealed and not serviceable. If a BD lens is scratched or scored, you don’t replace the entire light as you do with most imported products, nor do you need to send it back to the manufacturer as you would with other popular LED lights.
BD’s uService™ technology allows you to simply unscrew BD’s water and dust proof lens and seal to replace the damaged optics or lens. On top of that, the same uService™ technology means you can also change the optics of your light. When you consider that BD also includes a limited lifetime warranty on all their lights, uService™ offers the ultimate in purchase protection.
“Racing off-road for over 25 years has taught BD engineers to design products to endure even the roughest of conditions. At the Mint 400, the unlimited vehicles start in the afternoon, and the 400 mile race runs until well after dark. This year, every one of the unlimited classes was won by racers using Baja Designs lights. The Mint 400 has long been known as one of the toughest desert races in the US. The brutal 100-mile Mint 400 loop course was devastating this year. Of the 255 starters, only 132 finished within the time limit-making the attrition at 48%, the toughest in recent Mint 400 history. |

BD Sponsored Driver Wins 2013 KOH!
The Scientists of Lighting at Baja Designs would like to thank all of their sponsored KOH race teams and congratulate Bomber Fabrication’s Randy Slawson for an amazing victory at this year’s 2013 Griffin King of the Hammers race. A long week of preparation and pre-running culminated in a very exciting race on Friday. This year’s KOH was witnessed by a record crowd out at Hammertown and an even larger following via the live internet broadcast. Staying true to its name, King of the Hammers was more relentless and unforgiving than ever before, allowing just 27 finishers out of 129 racers.
Bomber Fabrication’s Randy Slawson had this to say, “We chose to outfit our Bomber Fabrication race car #4448 with two Squadron Wide-Corning lights and one 8″ OnX LED Light bar (with all spot reflectors). This combination allowed us to tune our suspension well into the night in preparation for our bid at the 2013 King of the Hammers. End result, on February 8, 2013 we were crowned “King” of the 2013 King of the Hammers.
